Our founder’s story

The inspiration for this innovation came from the personal experience of Hartmobility’s founder, Andy Hart, during his son Julian’s recovery from a severe spinal cord injury.

It became clear that standard grab bars used for transferring and support did not provide a secure grip. It was difficult for Julian to sustain a firm hold under his own weight, which severely constrained his independence, and placed additional strain on caregiver-assisted transfers.
