The 20 inch SG779 model is designed for transitions involving one or two steps. For entrances with two or three steps, the 32-inch SafetyGrip® StepAssist® provides a longer gripping area.
The StepAssist® is constructed from stainless steel for durability in indoor and sheltered transitional areas. When correctly installed into structurally sound doorway framing or wall studs, it is rated to support up to 350 lb.
AlphaSan® is incorporated into the SafetyGrip® material to help with antimicrobial protection.
The StepAssist® must be securely fastened into structurally sound doorway framing or wall studs using fasteners appropriate for the wall construction. The recommended installation height is generally 32 to 36 inches above the step, adjusted where necessary for the intended user.
The StepAssist® is intended to provide balance and support while stepping. It is not designed to support a person’s entire body weight. Inspect it regularly and discontinue use if it becomes damaged, loose, or moves from its installed position.
Professional installation is recommended if the installer is uncertain about the wall construction, structural framing, or correct fasteners.
